Rebery and his JR
Today you filed a judicial review (JR) against the government led by Prime Minister Victoria for not enforcing the Soggy Cat Act. Will you continue the JR against the government ?
I will continue the JR unless the bot is finally added and set up. It’s been over 10 days, and it’s not been fixed.
To bounce off my previous question, do you accept the Prime Minister’s response that they do not have the power to add bots or make bots work?
Legally, they have the ability, I plan to write another JR to get the Supreme Court to force something to happen! The President has had over 10 days to figure something out/work with the MoD.
I see, So will you take action against the President or the Office of the president?
The next JR will be regarding the fact that the President is refusing to give the MoD/Government the power which is directly given to them by legislation, so yes.
Thank you, Do you support the repeal of the “Soggy cat Act” Introduced by the Prime Minister?
No, it’s only to try and stop the enforcement of a section of the law which has already de jure been enacted. 72 hours after the act was signed and the bot was still not in the server, the Government lost confidence, if the act is repealed it does nothing. And also the preamble is unnecessarily long
If your legal challenges fail will you VoNC the Government?
I don’t plan to, no.
On Victoria Side
Your Government is under threat, but this time it’s not from within parliament but through the courts. Rebery has said he will not drop his Judicial Review(JR). Do you plan to fight this JR? (The JR I’m referring to in this question is the one seeking to remove the government)
Yes, our government does plan on arguing against the petition through the Ministry of Justice. 11 hours ago, I asked our Attorney General what his responses would be to any potential arguments the petitioner might raise. Through this practice, we were able to strengthen his future responses. Furthermore, he informed me that the chances of the Supreme Court actually granting the petition is quite low. Because of these, I would say that not only will our government be fighting it, we will also be demolishing it.
You have authored a Bill to repeal the “Soggy Cat Act”. Where in the preamble you have cited the U.S. Supreme Court, Human rights watch as well as a movement to repeal a similar law in the Philippines. Do you think the repeal of the Soggy Cat Act will lead to the legal challenges ending? Also do you think the whole bill should be repealed or just section 3?
Although I am currently not an attorney, I would say that ending the legal challenges would depend on whether or not the petitioners withdraw their cases. As for the bill itself, my opinion is that the entire bill should be repealed. Not only are certain provisions of the bill unconstitutional, but the criminalization of blasphemy violates the separation of church and state. We see this occurring in the United States, the Philippines, Turkey, and much more. The bill is tantamount to the establishment of Soggy Cat as a state religion, and under no circumstances shall that be permitted.
Do you want the MoD to have full bot powers? Which as you said may involve admin.
The Minister of Development is a political role, and as such, conferring admin perms upon the role would be impolitic.
Not even the Prime Minister role receives full admin perms, which is prudent due to the fact that politicians may abuse these powers. Should bot tweaks, invites, and edits need to be made, our government can always request assistance from either the President or the Vice President.
Commentary
Legal challenges are mounting with 3 Judicial reviews(JRs) being filled. All of the 3 JRs have been combined into one case(46/JR/25). 2 filed by February 1 to remove the government(46/JR/25) the other to compel the president to give the MoD bot powers (48/JR/25). The other filed by Attorney Unicorn (me :3) on the constitutionality of the section that removes the government and impeaches the president and other officials (47/JR/25).
